on bone armor and helms, I think it needs a redesign. for example, IRL bone armor wasn't an entire plate made out of bone but multiple bones tied together there I shall list some similar designs that I suggest be used as reference material in a redesign. :

also for goblins you could try something a bit more... dark themed but without adding human skulls in there (would be funny for a human scull to be in a bone armor made out of bear bone)

also, it would be nice to have some more feathers that have a random color in them or pompoms or more types of tusks in the helms

not saying that the current one should be replaced. more like each helm should have variations upon creation. i am unsure though if that is possible so i won't go in length on this.

next time I mess around with helmet graphics I will look into it, I doubt that I could make an accurate bone helm look right with so few pixels though, maybe it's possible for dwarves since their heads are big.

definitely not genesis, but I think it is compatible with the one that adds 2 handed weapons

you can see that you can make it so the bands and the bone <<scales >> are easy to make out :)

color accurate divine metals? or is that too large in scope

my divine metal factory keeps spiting out this iron looking stuff :c

well I don't think color accurate divine metals or dyed clothing is currently possible, but units wearing divine metal items have those items colored light gold with a slight glow. I don't know how the items or metal bars look before they are put on though.

Is there any reason not to give them regular picks? In my experience they are very deadly in the hands of a skilled miner.

Not currently, doing good layered graphics for hundreds of animal people would take me thousands of hours of unpaid tedious labor.
