I can't image ever getting near that number. I assume with points u mean score. When u get 200 kills, who cares about 2 points of extra score next round?
I think I misunderstand ur suggestion.
I did mean kills, there are some of us players with quite a lot of time spend on this game mode
and get way more than just a couple of hundred kills.
It could build up to being quite a nice amount of points.
Like if a total of 10,000 kills where made it would be 100 points to start with which can mean a pretty big difference on hard mode but it can be more,
after a long time that it would really start to shine.
Yes it does sound like a lot of kills but it will make players come back after a lot of time already spend so that at some point they can start at wave 1 with for example giant mode if they really wanted to!
it will give veterans something to work for and give new players a reason to come back and try again, because no matter how bad you are there is progression that will count that you wont loose on game over.
This is not possible with a mod alone, since, as you said yourself, an external database is necessary, stored on a different webserver. That is a bit of an overkill....
