Don't change windows icon.
The old one is still very recognizable and let's be honest, looks way better than the new one.

these fixes removes/changes all the outdated/defunct icons and layouts for a reason
keeping the windows icon as is because of nostalgia/preference would be obtrusive

If you look up "windows icon" online the majority of results are for the older one, and the older one is more recognizable without color than the new one.

Ideally, you should follow whatever logo the company is using at that time.

honestly if they aren't going to add the 64 bit macOS executable then the MacOS logo should be removed as the number of players that can even run tf2 on Mac are such a tiny portion of the steam on Mac userbase can actually play(based on Steam Hardware and Software Survey data)
