They exist around red obelisk, you went to the right place. There's also a tiny valley with R-thylas on Chrome Hill. The rocks have an amber look in that area, but it's a rare spawn.

Is there a resource map or even an explorer map for this? When you say red oby, I don't even yet know where that is (stared in the easiest area in the SW).
