cmon man im a wolf im pretty sure i can eat dog food without getting unhappy :(

Hi there~

I thought about it, but unfortunately it seems that the processing of food is handled by the game logic, and cannot be modded. I'll look into it some more, but thus far I haven't found a way to have _some_ species able have different effects from food consumption.

If you or anyone knows how to do this, please let me know!
Couldn't you use an if statement to add happiness when dog food is consumed by players wearing the canine fur? I'm not sure if the tooltip could be fixed beyond adding a "canines gain happiness instead of losing it"?

Hmm, I guess I could special-case intercept eating food if the action itself is not handled by base code. I'll look into it - I'd want to have one 'positive' and one 'negative' food per species for balance.

Ah. I see.So like... For canines, Dog food would be 'positive', and chocolate would be 'negative'? Sounds pretty reasonable.

would be a banger submod for certain animals to have carnivor/herbivore diets.

my say of a simple run about is just allow you to make a bowl of food to heat up *this should make it doable but ya other idea of a food being good for a species is solid.
coding this like a trait might be possible
why would a sentient animal WANT to eat dog food when they have the same 'rights' as normal people
Have you ever TRIED dog food? It's made out of rotten buttholes, and it tastes the part. It even smells horrible. And while the "rotten" is a mild exaggeration, the "buttholes" isn't. Why do you think nobody eats it instead of canned beef, not even as a dollar store mystery meat? Why do you think your dog always wants to eat YOUR food?

Realistically, as a furry you'd be much more opposed to eating dog food than as a human, because you'd have sharper smell and taste.
