Are obsidian weapons supposed to be weak? Or did I mess up?
I am not accusing or blaming the devs, just curious if maybe there is some mod conflict? I was really hyped to get my hands on obsidian, thinkinng maybe its gonna be THE thing for armor pen for low tech colony. Yet when i checked the stats, obsidian longsword had 1.49 RHA, while plasteel was at 1.62. This is disappointing, if only becouse i wanted a reason to hunt this cool new material. Maybe I messed up with mods?

I mean I would imagine it is supposed to be weak considering that it is obsidian, which is quite brittle and I could not see it penetrating much armor at all

Yeah, dude, but in base game obsidian is hella rare and supposed to be realy good for meelee weaponry. I mean, would mod devs value realism over fun and progression? As in base game obsidian was absolutely something you would set out to hunt and use, and obsidian veins were these cool but rare POI on the map.

Fair, I guess I value realism, I would imagine it is devastating in unarmored combat though, seeing the RHA armor penetration doesn't always paint the full picture. I mean if they were going for realism then obsidian would cut through skin like butter but not really go through steel

Also as far as Im aware even plasteel weapons struggle against armor, usually blunt weapons like uranium war hammers do well against heavy armor as far as Im aware.

Dude, you are awesome. Thanks a lot.

I dont really know how to convey the pronounciation for this one, my man. Kinda alien phonetics for english speaking lad.

Maybe try french 'oui', and then if you stretch it long enough, the sound is somewhat similiar? The tongue posotion would be close, but not exact.
