i agree, perhaps splitting it into multiple mods so people can choose weather they want the boxes or text would be good

I'm not actually sure there is a way on here. There used to be a free strawpoll website, but I just learned that it was shut down. All I can suggest is two files? One for each icon type and let people choose? You'll get more site traffic that way, I guess.

I'm looking into having the option to select one or the other inside the game. I usually don't like to split the people using the mods.

If all else fails then I'm making an alternate mod that has the other style.

The way you had it originally. The letter text icons, but colored. It was the simplest, and I think most effective without being too intrusive into the hud/field of view of the player.

I dont want rectangle hiding everything

I'm exploring the option to toggle the icon style. If that does not work then i'll release an alternate mod.

Update on the progress: haven't found a way to toggle between items yet. If all else fails I'm releasing alternate versions instead.

Sorry I didn't think to save a copy of the original files before you changed them. I've taken to doing that in case developers do something similar in the future.

Adding my voice to this. I love the idea, but the squares feel like they block entirely too much and it feels cluttered, even if they're actually the same size as the vanilla letters.

New Update: I guess it's going to take a while to figure this out. Thus i'll be releasing 3 different variations of the mod.

This is a workaround until i find a proper solution.

All will be linked to this one, so you guys will have 3 versions downloaded. That way you can toggle whichever you want to use from the mod selection.

Vanilla Style: Which is text only with subtle glow.
Icon Style: Which is the current version of the squares.
Flat Icon Style: Which would be square icons with no shading.
