There's even another code that lets them be friendly with other non-permanently hostile factions. You just unlocked a hidden feature and you're free to play how you like. If you have scraps or other equipment they don't wanna buy that you don't need, you can simply discard them because they give you a lot of stuff for getting the resources you need anyway, which was the point.
