Bug reports thread! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE REPLYING!

MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE DETAILS! A log even, or even just context enough to understand when you are getting the bug.

AND READ THE MOD DESCRIPTION AND THIS POST BEFORE POSTING! Most common bugs are already mentioned here or there, with how to solve them.

TRANSPARENT/BLACK SPRITES

If you get a transparent sprite, or a sprite gets replaced by a black square, remove some mods and try playing again. The error is caused by the Isaac engine running out of memory with too many mods (especially big ones), and is not a problem with Revelations in particular, nor can we do much about it than we already have.

Black Screen

If you get a black screen after launching the game, try two things:

First, it might be a download failure. Try removing the mods and downloading it again from our download mirror: https://github.com/filloax/revelations-mirror/releases/latest

If that doesn't help, go into the mod's folder (found in <isaac folder>/mods/revelations_2880387531) and launch:
-If on windows: hard_disable_shaders.bat
-If on Linux (might need changing perms): hard_disable_shaders.sh
More info on SHADERS_and_BLACK_SCREEN_README.txt in the mod folder.

KNOWN BUGS

  • Ragtime fight has familiars acting wonky during spotlight fadeout/fadein
  • Tainted keeper interacts badly with Rev enemies
  • Clutch crashes
  • Save & reload works badly in custom stages: this is hard to fix due to the already very complex system StageAPI uses to "fake" custom stages

I fought Wendy and he was invisible the entire fight, even when he was dizzy

The game seems to sometime crash on the start of a run and u get sent to the catacombs instead of Glacier majority of the time.

This is the blank/black sprites bug written above, try removing some mods.

so, ok, bit of a long report, but it's essentially just what i did to get to where i am.
first, the game would freeze whenever i started a run. simple enough, just thought that there was some performance issues.
then i disabled like six mods (specifically all the mods in the collections collection) and the game started crashing. simple enough fix, just delete the folder for revelations, right?
i wish it was that simple. instead, the game kept crashing, even after deleting the folder for the mod, and going back into the game.
any ideas on what to do?

It's normal to have a crawlspace in the start of the run that leads to alt path? I thought it only be accessible after beat the first boss like normal repentance alt path

Transparent bug sprites, read main post. If it still doesn't work after doing the stuff written there might also be a download failure, in which case download the mod again from the download mirror.

Freezing as in completely unresponsive? Anyways you can try first using ONLY Revelations and StageAPI (downloading rev from the download mirror) to see if that works. Then add mods, and see if it breaks.

The Wendy Boss Fight seems to be incompatible with Enhanced Boss Bars, it has multiple
small empty boss bars with -nan(ind) on them.

I keep getting an error with the header "Microsoft visual c++ runtime library" with no other text anywhere, followed by a crash.

When i start the game and want to go to the alt path in the hub room (not Glacier-tomb another one) my character is invisible and i can shoot but i can't leave the hub room. And there is a sprite of Isaac.

when i launch a run, it says something along the lines of 'minimap animations failed to load'
i do not have minimap api, and i know its automatically included in revelations, but ive restarted my game and everything else. i even subscribed to the mod alone and nothing changed

I downloaded mirror and removed mods but prong wendy and other bosses are still invisible
