true melee weapons don't work for me also,

you should be able to customize the effect's color and amount per weapon with some sort of an advanced option in the config. and also be able to set the max effect size so it doesn't become too large

Some true melee weapons are made with projectile, and of course they won't work.

because im not talking about weapons from calamity like murasama or omniblade, im talking about straight up true melee weapons
