I wouldn’t call the faction ALLIED. You start with one soldier less but get an elite class soldier. You will get access to the class research earlier (Infiltrator ~day 7, Technician and Priest ~day14) and that’s it. If you are in early game (=first half of January) you may want to start a new run, if later it doesn’t really matter anymore.

I already have, it was just because I had done the prologue (I now know that I could have done the buffed thing which i have done now to started a new run) thinks tho
