BetterEnemies has been integrated in TFTV. If you want the higher difficulty from BetterEnemies, just check "make Pandorans stronger". However, if you have BetterEnemies activated, TFTV will ignore whatever choice you make re "make Pandorans stronger"; this is to ensure compatibility.
In short, don't sub/activate BE, just check Make Pandorans Stronger in TFTV config
Moreover looks like "make Pandorans stronger" dont make pandoras as strong as in mod "Better Enemies", i think in second case they evaluate faster. I on date 24/01/2047 now and trion still dont have laser weapon and paralyze weapon, no herons with fire worms, best sniper riffle is Vyatra e.t.c
Also there are missing some changes with humanoind enemies. In "better enemies" I can select "all humanoid are at list 3rd lvl", it have three effect which spoil easy game:
3rtd lvl enemy are hardener to kill.
All recrut in havens become 3td lvl - I have to pay more for them.
Recruits in haven have already learned useless skills - so i have to use more skill points for make recrut usefull.
Also in "better enemies" were option something like "Pure and Forsaken dont have the same level of technology as NJ and Anu", this way I can find forsaken with acid grenade on the third week, on current game I have ambush when forsaken running around my Scrab and are not able to penetrate armor (except berserkers, which are easy to kill because many of them dont have close combat ability)
IMHO the goal of Better Enemies is to make the combat harder. Higher costs mean more difficult decisions where to invest the resources but lvl. 3 (instead of lvl. 1) maks combat easier.
I'm curious to know which 2nd and 3rd row class perks you find useless (at least for your playstyle).
I disagree on "have to use more skill points". E.g. a lvl. 2 haven Assault (on Hero) has bought the 2nd perk for 10 SP but got a stat bonus of 36 SP and a lvl. 3 one has bought perks for 25 SP and got a stat bonus of 79 SP.
IMHO The Pure with a mix of augmentation tiers are easier to handle. Being ambushed by The Pure with solely Demolishing State on mid size maps is no fun.
For my playstyle are useless (or not nessessary):
For berserker and haevy - both 2nd and 3rd
for assault, infiltrator and priest - 3rd
for sniper - second.
Only technican have both usefull skills
If you have training base with 5-6 "training center" 3rd lvl = 20-30h.
Moreover all teams except first and second start with 7lvl (second start with 6-7lvl)
This way i have 2 type of recruits, with 120 SP and witn 95 SP, almost all the time are more important to learn 5-7 lvl skills then have 1-3 speed/strength more
For me much hardener to kill Pure with second augmentation, they all have rocket launcher which are nor easy to control.
I really dont wont to make my game more easy, thats why I decide to path game one more time when you have finally removed "terminator bild" in the one of the last update.
