You say 180 dmg. That equals to 8 out of 10 bullets a 30 dmg * 0,75 (damage reduction from “Make Pandorans Stronger“) hitting the unarmored part.
But this does not take Marked for Death into account.
While I'm used to buffed Scyllas (Better Enemies mod) I haven't faced a new Scylla (Integrated Better Enemies), yet. Probably because I progress too fast.
The reticle was fully within the target body part. One thing that may be unaccounted for is the time delay between when you fire and when the shot goes off. I guess its possible that the character animation, that is when the enemy is sort of rocking back and forth, might have put the reticle partially off at just the right moment.
One thing I'm not uncertain of though is when I first checked the info screen there was a single "apex of creation" passive on the Scylla and as the fight progressed there were several. I recall a hephaestus shot doing 15 damage. I didn't have the WP for marked for death on every turn, I don't remember if it was in effect. Even assuming it wasn't, this would still represent an impressive 70% DR. I know 70 isn't a multiple of 25 but still, there is definitely something going on here. It might multiply by 0.75 for each apex passive for example. So if it has 3, it would have 0.75^3 ~ 0.42, about 58% DR.
ouch, that sounds like a bug. lemme check :)
EDIT: yep, indeed a bug - she was gaining additional DR status every time the game was loaded. Will be fixed in next release.
