Happens to me in the "Third Age Tale" all the time, too. Not in the war of the Ring though. Its sad, this mod is great.

Because its RTW engine? That is how this game works

I used to play the mod on the old engine/game, and it was less treacherous.
It was more clear which faction when would fight you. Here even the weakest ally, that is in fight with 3 strong factions near him, does backstab you anyway.

Didn't the original mod have a script to force the factions to work together lore wise?
I've had Mordor jump me at Osgiliath but that was cause I was 8 and didn't click that pop-up in the upper left to turn scripts back on when I reloaded a game and played like 80 turns with scripts off.
