You see legs when you see down, but do you OFTEN see down?
I wonder is it because we rarely see down except when you need to go down so Valve decided to remove visible legs in the sequel? Or is there any other reasoning?

There's too much theories in the wilderness to narrow down.
But I am in contact with Tsuey, one of the members of the TLS update, and he's in contact with the only Valve member that is still working on this game.

Tsuey has asked them and he's told me in return that the legs were gone due to the Jockey.

What and why the Jockey was conflicting, I'm not sure myself. I didn't get better details other than 'the Jockey was the cause'.
Tsuey theorizes that the inner workings of the upper-and-lower jockey-ridden animations for the survivors alongside the legs was making the system too complex, so as a lesser evil the legs were removed.

This makes me wonder - would it better off retaining the legs for everyone BUT the Jockey?

Its a very strange reason considering Tank didn't have legs in first game. (Tank did have working legs in the Demo but not on Retail)

With the jockey's head location, I doubt he'd even see his own knees.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering too. If anything looking down would just expose his arms more.

Remember that coding is very volatile, and things that look like it works sometimes just... don't.

If you want to see the legs more often, go into the config files and change LegsOffsetZ to 10

just dont look STRAIGHT down

wait i'm confused about the legs not being in l4d2 over the Jockey because you see in left 4 dead 1 we have legs and honestly the Tank actually did have a first person legs model and the legs system was still in left 4 dead 1 so why would we believe that for left 4 dead 2 over the jockey? this doesn't really make sense to me, i'm confused

I've not been given the full reason either, but I trust Tsuey so I'd accept that for a half-explanation for now.

That's what I'm saying

didn't know the tank had working fp legs in the demo, can I still download the demo version of left 4 dead 1?
