1. The first thing you want to do is equip any suit. Most ideally a suit that will fit the special abilities of whatever Combine/Rebel your making.
2. Go to entities and spawn a Suits Appearance Modifier in the CS[Base] section. Do NOT delete it while doing any other step otherwise all your progress will be gone.
3. Press e on it and a menu will open up
4. Get a model for the suit. You can do this by going to the spawnlist and finding a model then right clicking it and hitting “Copy to clipboard”. The model must be a NPC Combine model if you want your animations to actually work. So any mod that replaces a npc Combine Soldier works just fine if you want to use that model. If you want a modded model then simply hit that + button in addons in the spawnlist then choose the mod and pick that model.
5. In the menu go to Models & Bodygroups and delete whatever model is currently in the Model section. Then paste in the npc model.
6. Do anything else you want to do. Experiment with the Suits Appearance Modifier. Change the overlay, equipment, or stats. Whatever you like and you'll be good.
7. Once you are done press apply then get the Duplicator Tool for the toolgun in the construction section. Then right click on the Suits Appearance Modifier then hit “Save Dupe”. And you're ready to go after that.
To actually use the suit just press E on it again and at some point you will equip the suit

Tip: Usually when pressing E on the Suits Appearance Modifier you will see a little hologram of your current suit. Take these as save points because if you don't see that little hologram and change to a different suit it will override the suit you were making. It's nothing too important, just something to keep note of.
