Dismantling
I see, there is a discussion tab for mods? Good to know!
About getting nothing for dismantling items: I found a red pelt on another island and I got regular non-painted items when dismantling it.

I'll check out the dismantling issue with the painted items. The flooring though has never been able to be picked up, even in the base game.

I retract my terrain comment as well, just never actually picked it up before. That bug is also fixed.
