I've had a similar idea to this before - the main difference is that devouring void is a pocket active with infinite charge and blinding void is the spacebar active, and still has 6 charges. And I have to ask if you think that's possible? Regardless, awesome mod
As for your suggestion, I don't want to promise anything, but it does sound doable and I might look into implementing that as a toggleable mode sometime in the future.

I've gotten into contact with a spriter and if all goes well, the mod should get better sprites soon.
I'm not sure if rock tears are the visual direction I want to take, but I might still consider that, since more visual distinction is cool. Though there are things to change that I'd consider to be a higher priority for now.
I've been wanting to make the mod work with pocket actives, but life got in the way and I couldn't get it done.
Just downloaded the mod. I'll see what I can do.
It already does that, but only when playing as Apollyon. However you can make it trigger as any character through Mod Config Menu.
Sorry for not responding to all those comments earlier. I've been occupied with irl stuff and didn't have time to read them until now.
Is it ok for it to work like this?
because what I see is that it's super broken when you absorb certain active items.
Then I went to load another game but now using the console to get more active items (mama mega, dark arts, the poop and the d6) and I was able to use them all with the Devouring Void infinitely.
