What I would like after 1 game is more information on the scenarios and how to actually fix them with a longer cooldown between them. Maybe even have a festival event whenever you successfully prevent disaster.

Also maybe reducing the standing fleet when the sectors leave and have admirals leave to make reclaiming the periphery harder. A massive hit to the central governments fleet speed or other things that reduce to zero over time could also help prevent an immediate regobbling of the secessionists.

One last thing I would like to see is maybe having a admiral/general trait that is gained upon a reuniting war. This could, if possible, allow for government change from democracy to dictatorship.

I love this mod. It allows my to roleplay an Aurelian 3rd century moment in space.

So, my idea is this; When a nation falls, logically some factions would stay semi-loyal, some wouldn't. others would loose technology, and some might even do the oppisite! So, during a split, multiple things ocurr;

  • Tech Level Breakdown
    • Slight Advancement
      • during the war, they accelerated research to try to get an edge against us!
      • Will have more advanced tech's, especially in weapons. If you manage to get them to come back, you gain those tech's as well!
    • Remain the same
      • This empire's tech is on-par with ours, they kept it all
    • Slight Decrease
      • During their fall, this group lost some technology
      • A loss of some random tech's occur
    • Major Decrease
      • This group lost a whole lot of modern tech
      • Tech resets with this empire to near the beggining
    • Primitive
      • This empire lost a lot of technologies
      • There are multiple versions of how far back they fall
        • Space-This empire lost all their tech back to space level, wether it was a rejection of technology or something else, we may never know
        • Atomic- this empire went back to the nuclear era
        • Atomic: War- this empire went back to the nuclear era, and is at the brink of war!
        • Industrialization- this empire went back to pre-nuclear, post industrial-revoloution
        • Industrialization: War- this empire went back to the pre-nuclear, post industrial revoloution era, and is on the brink of war!
        • Stone Age- This empire renounced all technology to stay away from us (They will be xenophobic), and are all the way at the stone age!
        • Pre-Sapient- to leave us, they chose to use advanced technology to de-evolve themselves to mere animals.
      • There are multiple varients of this for borders
        • Remain in your empire's border
        • Be outside of any empire border
        • Be inside of one of the other civilizations that fell's border
        • Have a starbase of their own, effectivly "locking" the empire, especially as you can't contact them
          • they will do random things, such as opening or closing borders
  • Vasal
    • Some of the sects remain semi-loyal, and will request to become vassels
  • Governmental Changes
    • Sometimes, the governments will change, using rules such as the following
      • Ethic's change; Will either:
        • Stay the same
        • Switch strengths (fanatical becoming non fanatical, ect)
        • Invert (Materialist becoming spiritualist, xenophile becoming xenophobe)
          • If they are materialist to spiritualist, they are more likley to losse tech, and more likley to become primatives
        • Random change (Very rare)
      • Government Change
        • Can change
        • If you have synthetic evoloution, they might "merge", and become a Gestalt Conscisness
        • If you have Evoloutionary Mastery, they might become a hive mind (Or become a non-hivemind if you are a hive mind)
        • If you have Transendence, well, you'll think of something
        • If you have Synthetic Age, then a chance they will become an empire with Synthetic Evoloution
      • Civics change:
      • Stay similar (Byzintyne bearocracy might become something like Efficient Bureacruacy
      • Change Completly
        • Some Civics can change completly. Random chance, increased by major governmental type changes, and major ethic changes (If major enough, you might even loose things like "Fanatic Purifyer".
      • If hive minds become non hiveminds, or visa-versa. Same with machine, things like "Fanatical Purifiers" will become "Determined Exterminator" or "Devouring Swarm". I'm sure you can think of other "equivilent" Civics between them, the rest will be random
      • Trait Change
        • The genes, and even species name, might change, the probability increased by each biological ascision perk teir, or for robots synthetic age/ each mechanical evoloution stage
      • Some might decide to go crazy and become the crisis.
      • Sometimes, a faction of robots might break off (Increased if you don't give them right's) (It might randomly as well)
        • They might make themselves gestalt
        • They might become effectivly a "synthetic ascension" empire (Even if they don't have that tech, and they don't need the perk!

Thanks for reading this wall of text, hope these ideas help!

Maybe add a way to see Imperial Decay so one can slightly prepare and/or combat said decay in one way or another, now that i think about it, is there a way to combat decay?

Great mod !
I'd like to make some recommendations :
  • a place to see the ongoing decay would be a delight
  • something that would prevent you from getting several crises at the time, like having a military coup in the making, an economic crisis, a demographic collapse, the outer territories wanting to split aswell as a cultural war, seems overkill
  • More options to react to crises, perhaps more costly ones but at least such that you can actively do something against it - instead of just sadly looking to the +1 monthly against which you can't do a thing
  • [edit added] Perhaps something that rewards you -in a way- if one crises does occur, for exemple, if you let an economic or demographic crises unfold, then there would be a certain cooldown before another can happen, idk if such freature already is included, but perhaps a loss of decay'd be nice too
