Already discovered a derelict station and stuck with engineer rank 5 mission
Hi
I discovered a derelict trade station in my starter system before having unlocked the rank 5 engineer mission. The first chapter of the mission won't complete when going to that station.
I guess this type of station is ok for the mission?
Anyway I tried a couple of console commands to try to complete the step but nothing works.
Any ideas?

Needs to be the "Derelict Orbital Station" to complete engineer rank 5, the derelict trade station won't do anything.

I have found 3 or 4 of the derelict orbital stations, and not a single one prompts me further in my quest. And I've checked and double checked, they are definitely orbital, not trade stations. I even watched his playthrough and identical stations, but does not advance the mission.

Did you find the one in the orbit of your start planet? Could be the issue, I've never tried completing this one elsewhere.
If you did try that one, then there should be a way to reset mission progress on rank 5 to start so you can try again. Think I saw knowitall say somewhere that you can place a core of your own and destroy(shoot) it to complete.

You need to approach the POIs and get within a few hundred meters, just getting a scan won't do.

If someone has already "found" one in the start system you just need to find a new one in and approach it and it should work.

I discovered that if you find one, just relog. The PDA will update and move you on to the next steps.
