Another possibility is to do a little recon. Try EVAing around the station to see if you can spot something inside the locked admin room through the window.

Thanks for all your help. I made it down to the planet to but my mission still is not updating. I tried to talk to everyone and read all the signs at the quarantine base alpha on the planet but nothing, any ideas?

It fixed itself when I logged back into the game the quest updated. Now I am trying to find the researchers. I found them I think in the basement and also found an infected one deep in the basement but the quest is now not updating, not sure what is going on. I think I might give up on this and try to go down another path because this pathway seems to be very buggy.

I went down the pathway of combat first and got to the quest where I have to kill 50 space drones, and I have only encountered 5 before the quest and had not seen anymore so I tried to go down the medical path and have now hit this roadblock. My hubby did the engineers pathway and he has finished all his class quests without any issues.
