Did you found it in starter planet? Is there another comm center in same planet?

Same cant complete the part with find interesting POI

Interesting POi is the obelisk in your starter planet. Needs to be it

i took engineering first and well uncovered hole planet. and when i got the next option to pick something it was combat and then the next option was explore so everything on starter planet was all ready discovered

You dont need to discover. You need to get close. The same for the station in orbit. When youre a scout, you need to get close in the two classes. One for "discover" and another to claim.

Had this problem, it turned out to be a different comm station. I eventually found the right one. It was even a different build than the one I originally mistook it for. If you get close to the right comm station the mission will acknowledge it. The mission trigger to recognize it is by proximity. So if you are near it and the mission doesn't ask you to go down to the terminal you are at the wrong building. The terminal is like the ones in the Cryo Pod and Taurus.
