Since I'm play testing this thing on a personal server with other mods and some friends, I'll report here what experiences have been like.

There was the balloon with the excessive costs that was in the comments. and the ships not having the wood specific torches.

Carrying on from stuff found today on my server:
A further issue I've hit.
Using the mod on the server, unsure if theres a singleplayer issue or not but:
Orange scout balloon. my friend placed it down on top of our base and wanted to use it. but then we couldn't get into it. We managed to car jack and bunt it onto solid ground so it's safe for when you might check it out and fix it also.

Seems the metal armored helicopter also has issues.
We placed it down and it stayed stuck floating in the air. can't be carjacked, can't be gotten into, can't have gas siphoned etc. when we walk into it we wig out weirdly also. it was the same issue with the scout balloons.

but so far, the makeshift light tank, makeshift frame based helicopters (pine etc).

Ships were working in my singleplayer game, but are yet to be made in multi.

The makeshift light tank and frame based helicopters aswell as their float versions were fine my friend managed to make a tank (which promptly got killed instantly by a lightning boss), and fly the helicopters.

The armored metal helicopter though had an issue where it was just froze in place and wouldn't move what so ever. We tried siphoning the fuel, car jacking it, standing on it and everything, it just stayed there stuck in the air not falling to the ground or anything.

Atleast although the recon balloon couldn't be entered we could still carjack and move it around by force.

I did notice all the extra super duper complex recipes and giant boxes of automatic weapon parts dropping out of my military zombies. So I'll see about trying to spawn those in again and trying them out.

ok, good news. Both the armored helicopter and both air balloons were working on the server. I spawned them in just now to test, before I could forget again.

Will let you know if anything else we attempt to try making plays up.

Although I find it curious you're now branching out into a bit of food and makeshift weaponry. Could be an alright idea to rename? to reflect that it's not just vehicles but other things too?

(I'm just assuming its you, cause I think I saw the venison chowder in your item id list and I've been finding these pots and stuff everywhere. and noticing some weaponry recipes too since last update or so and I didn't recall adding another makeshift gun or food mod to my installation lately. :P)

Could I add an idea to your food stuffs but on the topic of farming?
Cause I recently had an idea for like a fertilizer/compost thing, where you take a kitchen knife and can salvage any of the crops and vege items into bio-mash (a resource just to turn all the unneeded foods into so that the recipes don't get too numerous), with maybe 4 of them you can make a compost box/worm farm or something which you can "plant" anywhere, like the brewing barrels one of the mods I use does and when it's complete you harvest to get some fertilizer packages.

The boxes themselves would be like planter sized, 2x1.

Not sure if you've noticed it. But the gears recipe requires bars twice. Not sure if you meant it to require something else instead of the second set of bars. But when crafting gears I think it also only consumes one of the two bar stack.
