it just constantly replaces the dirt with a grass block, that's why. Those boots just plants grass on any of these blocks. It can be fixed by just upgrading them or unequiping them. That's a pretty weird of a thing to add to these boots imho.

When you have them equipped click the small eye next to them it will stop doing that
