It'd just be representing health into the sm64 health hud, stars could be ammo, and I don't know if there's anything else to put for lives

maybe lives could be the image of Mario? and like number of health to the right of it that are small kinda in the mario font

like the image of mario and the x and then the health. and yeah stars ammo.

no wait the bar would be health then stars ammo, coins could be like the suit thing for if you have hev on. and lives could be the mag for the ammo maybe

the lives could be actually what it is in the game
basically when you die you lose a live then respawn to the spawn without having to undo and spawn mario back in
