other version(s) of the mod with overall frequency/rarity turned down.
It's gonna make slower larger campaigns awesome.
For starter's, there is zero overlap between the "Purist Society" and "foreign influence" events, I think there needs to be a middle ground where none of the trade events happen at all! I think it would be a little better if it looks like this:
Purist Society: 0-2
No Event will happen: 3-4
Excessive trade level 1: 5-8
Excessive Trade Level 2: 9+
Your "gain political allies" event that would "reduce" the probability of getting assassinated doesn't work! I was just assassinated. For certain factions (that did not betray and usurp their leaders in real life, such as Antigonid Makedon, or Athens), I'd like the "assassinate ruler" option to be removed entirely.
Your "excessive trade" events need to have a gap between them and the "Purist Society" event because there just should be a middle ground between purist society and too much trade! Not a gap, just a middle ground where nothing happens at all.
Your "choices" are all so beyond prohibitively expensive that I NEED to save parser myself a RIDICULOUS amount of money in order to even choose these options. You need 10,000 money to "gain the crowd." 10,000 is roughly half of your starting budget, 10,000 is the starting income per turn for the Seleucids, the highest income per turn in the game. You do not HAVE 10,000 to spare if you're playing as most factions because that is simply how the game works.
Your "Oh no, Palace Riots!" Event occurs even when the ruler is away, campaigning far from the capital.
Fix it.
Indirectly, It does reduce the chance of getting assassinated as if you chose to do nothing (option 4) when getting this dilemma, you will get a higher chance to get assassinated.
If you gain political allies, you dont get that extra threat.
I set trade events tiers to 0-2, 5-8 then 9+
The philosophy of this mod is not to have easy option that can picked blindly (like vanilla events), where you end up not even reading the event "cuz whatever brahh, everythin woks anyways"
NOR it is to always HAVE a good option at all.
Some of the challenges it tries to represent are not always "fixable"
In this example, this is "Tyrant" event that (might) happens if you have really high control over the senate. So basically, other parties are starting to fear you.
You have 4 options:
-secure allies: requires 200 gravitas and 2500 gold
-gain the crowd: basically bread and games, 10k gold
-take authoritarian measures - affects loyalty
-do nothing - higher risk of being assassinated
If you reached such high political control and dont have either 10k, or 2,5k + gravitas, or some spare loyalty, well then, grats, you just joined the club of NUMEROUS tyrants that could not hold power indefinitely. That's how it is and it seems pretty historical to me.
As for Palace riots, I will take a look about it, thanks
