Congratulations! You have a version of the mod that is almost two years behind. That is almost archeology at this point!

This issue is an uppercase / lowercase problem: Steam thinks "ui" is the exact same as "UI", so it updates the folder's contents, but not the folder name itself. 1.4 NEEDED the folder to be uppercase, or else some of the gene images would produce errors, so we were forced to change it, and Steam ignored the change.

The solution: Either use RimPY or delete the mod's folder manually to force Steam to re-download, as steam won't update the folder's name otherwise.

fk, i mustve missed it every time xD yeah its gotten to the point where i dont even bother with resubbing, better to just delete the folder. sadly vge didnt require this, or i didnt know it did cause the updates looked fine...

maybe validating rimworld fixed it, or they were smart enough to just delete it from the start

Do I need to completely delete the entire mod folder? Or just this mod's folder alone?

Thanks so much for this post Sarg. I really wanted to go big into ranching with paragon animals and was bummed out the mod wasn't working, it's so much fun to play pokemon in rimworld :) Thanks man!

Ok, I'm really sorry I tried RimPY and I tried to find the mod folder to delete it but once I go to my Rimworld mods folder on my computers local files I don't have this vanilla genetics mod folder in there, only ones that I've manually downloaded and placed there. I'm sorry don't want to be a bother!

The folder you describe ONLY has manually downloaded mods.
Mods from steam dont go there, the got to soemwhere else.

Local mods:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods\

Steam mods
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods\
