You can check if other addons have anything to do with it pretty easily; if you go to the addons manager in-game you can disable every addon at once, then go find this one and re-enable it. If it still crashes after that it's not a conflict, and there likely isn't very much you/I can do.
Would also be worth trying it in a smaller map. The severity of the lag spike is dependent on how large/detailed the map is, so if that is actually what's crashing you you may still be able to use it on some maps.
