1) This mod is a balance mod. Its purpose is to even the field between occupations, both in terms of starting a game but also for progression. Books are an essential tool to guarantee that any occupation can in fact pickup the rest of skills, making every occupation viable long term.
-----More precisely : Previously, any occupation that had a combat skill multiplier was vastly superior to more craft-oriented occupations, that could be grinded out easily with little risk compared to combat. Now, any occupation can become a combat build if desired with the same ease as combat occupations can become a craft-build. The choice now relies on the points-to-spend and the actual unique feats of the occupations.
2) You do not have to use the books to play this mod. And books spawn is not making you miss out anything, on the contrary it is a game-play oriented boon.
----- More precisely : Every player leaves unwanted items behind, rubbers, pens, pillow etc... There is no need to pickup everything, and no obligation to use anything. The system is here to support an even field, but you do not have to play by these rules. It is your game after all. Additionally, we developed a unique method that does not remove any other loot from tables, that also replicate the scarcity compared to rarity of the normal game and provide new looting places to hit instead on focusing on the classical bookstore, thus motivating new exploration paths and avoiding cluttering of inventories as best as possible (still cluttered but much less so than with any other existing mod to our knowledge).
3) We do not want to put more work in this mod, except for basic support and debugging, especially if it goes against our vision for this mod.
----- More precisely : We made this mod for our group of players and opened this to the community to share. We did not intend to comply with any asking whatsoever, but did help with compatibility with popular book mods (and for other systems as well) to still give freedom of choice to the players that uses this.
For all of these reasons, we will not remove the books or separate them from the core of the mod. You guys can ignore them, or use them, but we cannot work for your personal preference individually. Feel free to this work yourself if you think you can provide it to the community, as we do not have the time nor the intent to do it for now.
