Only issue I can think of is that kinda makes them the ultimate projectile... At least if mass is a part of the damage calculations, which may only be a think with Kinetic Devastation I'm actually not sure.
I'm not entirely sure how these things work and if it's even possible, but what about making them like wheels? They take little to no collision damage, but are still destroyed by weapons fire and explosives, so maybe make the road segments like that, somehow? I can see people using them as ramming protection though.
this pack needs a 1x1x4 piece to really hone in the length so you can keep it tight to the terrain and clean trasition from voxel to the block/road
