Mail/Post Industry
There used to be a mod that could collect unsorted mail from citizen housing with any vehicle that could deliver goods, unsorted mail would be taken to a sorting office/post office, which would turn the mail from unsorted into sorted. sorted mail would again be collected by goods capable vehicles, and delivered back to population housing. Unfortunately the mod is out of date, and hasn't worked for a long while.

It's really a shame, in the last year the UK community has received the most comprehensive coaching mod to date, dating from 1951 and it includes our famous travelling post office and vehicles designed to carry mail and goods. I also believe there is a Dutch mail freight car on the workshop too! Mail has been carried on the railways since railways began, and to get a brand new working mail mod for transport fever 2 would open up new opportunities for a lot of players!

Wow, thanks for the input - could you post a link to the original mod so I can take a look? Maybe I can just "fix" the mod for a more recent game version instead of redoing everything the original author already did back then?

No promises of course, but I'll take a look for sure!

Sorry but this Industry Expanded mod still works fine. But i think so its not compatybility with Expandet Production Chains. I

unfortunately the mail mod hasn't worked since the summer update for me

Have your checked recently? Maybe it just got an update? Another possibility could be incompatibility with another mods you use. Can you tell exactly what parts of the mod aren't working right now?

If I understand correctly, the Mail mod didn't work for OP even before they installed my new mod. Have you only tried Industry Expended itself or did you also try the Mail/Wast Add-on?

i've not had a chance to actually play the game in a little while, just been making reskins. specifically the part that seems to be broken is housing not generating unsorted mail

Houses only generate unsorted mail when they have sorted mail as an input. and not all residences generate unsorted mail. if you want them to generate it, sort out your commercial zone, they will generate unsorted mail as an output, take that to the sorting office and bring back sroted mail. with good placement you can get yourself a nice loop of dropping off and picking up mail.

that's not how it worked, when it worked before the update. and it's not just me either, multiple people in the UK transport fever discord have the same issue, mail only comes from/goes to houses. the only way they get around it is setting sorted mail to require no input

Are we talking about the same mod? i use industries expanded with its mail add on and thats exactly how it works. ive never had an issue with mail doing it the way i explained.

Can you post a screen shot with your goods overlay turned on? and possibly a screenie of your modlist with teh load order turned on? it should look like something in this link https://gyazo.com/ba526820978fa7d1420101bda90b257d. youll see unsorted from the stores and unsorted/sorted for the houses.

lol no thatsa rather long list, you could paste bin it or something but you are right that would be quite the trawl lol. but yea have a good look through see if theres something causing an issue to do with industry realted mods, i doubt stations tracks locos carriages n all that will be having a direct issue. its probably related to something script related that touches the industries if there is a conflict.

seems to be working on a map i downloaded and pumped a total of 900 mods into it - the catch is that i've made a set of freestyle industries to supply the town with every need required
