I suspect it has something to do with the cleanup routine after exploring pristine ruins. I could recreate the abandoned/destroyed event after exploring a ruin, but I have no logs to support this. It would randomly either delete an outpost (mining or town) or would trigger a raid at one of the outposts. Every time I finished exploring a pristine ruin.
Ideology rituals which would reveal the location of a pristine ruin also would not work, stating I "already knew the location of a pristine ruin", despite not having one on the map. I did, however, have an outpost.
In my case there were no ruins at all.
This was also how I "solved" this problem.
For me, it was an artillery outpost with 2 pawns in it. I didn't receive any notification saying the outpost was being raided, just that 2 pawns were fleeing. When I clicked on them, I saw that there were 2 raiding parties attacking an outpost of 2 pawns (which...is overkill considering most raids on outposts are quite small). Problem is, the 2 pawns weren't even mine. In their bio info, it said they were mine. But I didn't recognize either of them. There were raiders stuck INSIDE the outpost building trying to get out. I used the debug menu to do "damage to death" to the raiders. Then I got a notification say the raid was won. And then another one saying the outpost had been abandoned. Then another one saying the outpost had been lost. And no matter how I let it play out, I never reacquired those 2 pawns (my real ones or the imposter ones). Very odd.....
I never made a error log before, so hope this is right and will help.
