So I installed and now recommend the mod "More Loot Settings" (MLS). It is a shining example for a very good documentation and tool tips. There you can also change the settings for spawn chance on zombies for firearms. Haven't tested it thoroughly yet.
Does somebody know how exactly the house settings option works? Is the multiplier for the spawn chance in houses only for weapons added by VFE or for the spawn chance of ALL firearms in wardrobes/houses? I'm asking because VFE does replace vanilla weapons, which technically make them VFE weapons? The tooltip suggests it affects only VFE weapons. Same with police/military zombies.. are they handled differently or are just the tooltips misleading? I installed VFE right away, so I don't know how vanilla PZ behalves. Would be neat, if the tooltip stated Vanilla off/on.
Does sb. have an idea, if More Loot Settings would interfere or overwrite the loot settings of VFE, specificaly the house weapons multiplier?
As I understand it, you can choose a general spawn chance in loot options (which applies only to containers, not zombies, they have a 50% spawn chance for firearms in vanilla (I derived from this info from MLS)) then in the VFE submenu you can choose the places, where vanilla and VFE firearms can spawn in general. I believe the VFE tooltips are just misleading, but i might be wrong. Then you can add another multiplier to the loot tables in houses that affects spawn chances for all vanilla and VFE weapons.
The question I'm searching an answer for myself and maybe only the creators of this mod can answer: Do the vanilla loot options correctly affect all the spawn chances for containers like gloveboxes and inside houses or are there items added to loot tables that are affected by other loot options than firearms, like "other loot" for wardrobes/gloveboxes for example?
If I run some tests, I will write again.
Open VFE_Distributions preferably with a Lua editor (It also will help if you understand the Lua language or have experience coding). Line 1160 defines a function that removes Vanilla Firearms, Line 1197 and Line 1256 add replacements for the vanilla weapons. Line 1310 defines a function that adds items to all Houses (This is the section you are looking for) and Line 1508 adds items to vehicles.
Hope this helps!
