It already does, you just need to mount it during a campaign
(I built this sub for a 6+ players focused campaign, making it somewhat challenging during the first missions, the gun mount is wired up, you just need to talk to the right NPC in an outpost to mount a weapon of your choice on it)

the rightmost (two large loader emplacements), dual mounted guns (two guns operating on the same periscope) kinda mess the gun mounting process, i suggest you visit the NPC and click the emplacement of the guns directly on the ship's map and then select what type of armament you wish to install
