...is it automatically enabled? I tried searching for it when I started a game and was choosing an ideoligion but it doesn't appear.

In-game my pawns still have the "interrogate" option for captured prisoners as well as any newly discovered vaults having ancient-faction dudes join me, but I'm also able to recruit new dudes which is something I couldn't do before.

I've also found that I CAN use this mod along with Prepare Carefully so long as I don't load a preset. Taking a dude and customizing him seems to impart no issue with the game. Loading a preset made the game crash after hacking a locked vault door and never recover after that point when reloading.
