To rule out my mods, I started a new colony running only Subsurface Conduits, Wall Lights, and Invisible Animal Beds with Pokeworld (basically my minimum to stay remotely sane). I was going to slowly add my mods back in to see the conflict, only... it was still malfunctioning!
Basically, if I start a job and then the person walks away, they can no longer manipulate the partially-completed fossil. It displays correctly, and sometimes it will pop off the resurrector, but they can never put it back and resume the job. Cancelling the unfinished fossil sometimes allows them to start fresh, but sometimes it vanishes completely, and half the time regardless of the outcome the Resurrector becomes unuseable--completely unclickable, afterwards. I reloaded the save from construction of the machine several times, and the results were similar.
The spot it was constructed in was freshly mined and constructed, so there were no hidden beds or conduits under it. Just wooden floors.
I also tried unsubscribing and doing a series of reloads before resubscribing to the mods. No change. Here's the log:
