On Act 4 and Dragonfall Stand-alone

Steam is showing the DC of Dragonfall releasing on the 18th of September (hopefully so!). From what I've read, everyone who owns dragonfall will receive a free upgrade to it. It adds a lot of things, such as new game mechanics (armor, etc) and a new UI and animations(!). Lots of great-sounding things.

That being said, I don't believe you will be able to run Dragonfall as the DLC it currently is any longer. You will be automatically upgraded. I also read a bit about the current Dragonfall-using people having to 'convert' their UGC's to the new Director's Cut format.

Hopefully, this will be a bug-free change, but even at it's best, there will be some balancing changes with the new gameplay elements. How this will effect Act 3, I cannot say. I do know that there will be two seperate Shadowrun Editor programs: the current one and the Dragonfall DC Editor.

However, I am excited to start putting some stuff together for Act 4 when the new stuff is released! I'll rock the standalone out first and get a good tour of the new features and area tiles, etc, then start seeing how things shape out on some maps. I've had the story arc written out for a bit, but havn't started with the new maps until we see what the Director's Cut holds for new cyber-toys:srfrag::srfrag:. The cover system and flanks/positioning are also supposed to be upgraded somehow.

Anywho, in summary, I just wanted to communicate that things are a-brewin' fresh.

Nice to hear you have the next part in the works. While I'm excited to play Directors Cut, I also really look forward to the next part of From The Shadows, Run. Hopefully the transition won't be too buggy. I'm glad you dropped in to say what's happening, the fear of a story being abandoned is not one I enjoy.

It looks like they've clarified the issue -- you can run Dragonfall as DLC through Shadowrun Returns, but the new DC will operate as a standalone as well. They're also saying they're gonna release info about how to convert DLC campaigns to DC versions.

For those of us who got Dragonfall director's cut standalone (and can't go back and get any DLC for SRR), are we out of luck for playing this mod?
