This mod is available on Mac - Here's how to make it work
I read in the comments that the mod isn't available for Mac. Thats wrong, it works on Mac OSX. The only thing you need to to in advance is to create the folder "Files" where the mod is looking for images. Without it, you'll receive an error.

This is the path:
/Users/%username%/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Cities_Skylines/Files/

I've triple checked everything with the files is correct, tried to ensure the hotkeys were right and that image lock wasnt on. png file is well below maximum size and I cant seem to get anything to appear on the map.

Just to help clarify, the folder path that this mod is actually looking for is "~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Cities_Skylines/Files" which does not exist on the osx version of C:S.

If you click "Open PNG Files Folder" in the Options menu for the mod, the folder that opens is "~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Cities_Skylines/Cities.app/Contents/Resources/Files" This is NOT the correct folder.

To get this mod to work you will have to make a new folder in
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Cities_Skylines
and name it "Files" and then copy the png file that you want to use into it.

It doesnt work on mac anymore :( it used to but it doesnt show up anymore, i see nothing in the game. is there a bug?
