I'd love to have the ability to build vaporators underground as its own mini mod. I don't necessarily want some of the other stuff in here, but it bothers me irrationally that there's no way to get more water underground once the deposits run out.

hmmm maybe a special building to help with sanity recovery? early game there isn't really a lot of buildings to help with this especially if you don't take the profile that helps cut sanity losses while underground, in the dark or gives the debuff of working during the night which is what happens with people underground. Sanity management is a pain to deal with.

That is an interesting idea! Do you have any suggestions? I am having trouble thinking of something that would work without making infirmaries obsolete.

maybe a Library for an escape mechanism. Or since we're dealing with a lack of sunlight? maybe a building that mimics/simulates sunlight. Could provide some peace of mind even simulated. Humans do need sunlight to provide the body with some vitamins it produces when exposed to natural sunlight.

Here's an idea - what do you think of a new crop which is rich in Vitamin D, so colonists in that dome have reduced lack of sunlight sanity penalty?

can you make all the terraforming buildings and spires all need exotic ore to be built too?

I did make is so the Core Heat Convector and the Magnetic Field Generator require EM. I decided not to require EM for other terraforming buildings because they can be available quite early in the game, and I don't want to limit terraforming too much due to lack of EM - especially because it is only through terraforming that you can make surface domes more affordable.
As for Spires, that is something I thought about, and I still think it can be an interesting mechanic. How much EM would you suggest each spire should require?

for the spires about 20-30 each?
the building that makes atmosphere is not available quite early maybe just add that and leave the rest?

I updated the mod. Spires now require 10 to 20 EM for construction, depending on the Spire. I also made it so open farms require EM for construction, but left the carbonate processor as it is, since it requires quite a lot of resources for construction and operation already.

What about adding a trait to colonists if they were born underground? Such that they wouldn't receive said "No sunlight" sanity penalty? Martianborns born on the surface would still receive the penalty if underground for a period of time as well as earthling colonists.

Oh snap, that is a good idea! I am not sure it is possible, because I don't think the game tracks if a colonist was born underground, or on the surface, but I will look into it. Cheers!

Of course! Or maybe, make it a technology that can be researched, like a breakthrough? Idk how modding the game works and i understand if there are technical limitations.
