I've been playing the mod and it's great fun but some of the doctrines feel lacklustre. One of these is the Soviet Rocket & Artillery Regiment with 2 free slots. To fix these slots, I think the M-160 Mortar would be a good option, perhaps have it come in with a ammo truck too even.
