Having the exact same issue, suddenly started today.

I had this issue, persisted in MP until I restarted my server.

I think i may have it.. its when you PLACE the item.. try just DROP ing the boombox and it seems to work then.

i'm having this issue in all the cassette players (cars and boombox's) i'm hosting and playing on a multiplayer non-dedicated server. i have tried restarting it and starting it in a different world but its still not working

Bump. The ones that I play, the host, are fine.

But my friends constantly breaks. He'll turn it on and hear the music fine but I won't. So I'll open up the device options and it'll say turned off with no vinyl inside.

Boombox is basically the same thing.

The music stops when a player goes in and out of range *sometimes*. The music playing for 5s then stopping has been occouring when theres 3+ players present, again *sometimes*.

I feel like it has something to do with the client trying to recognize too many radios/tvs/cassette players running at the same time and it cuts some off to consolidate. I run around turning off ones not being used, but I have no idea if this is actually what's going on.

I had the same issue in a server i was in while back, the glitch is caused when either you take the cassette out while its still playing, stopping the song while its playing, or it simply loosing power cuz the boombox battery died. you MUST let the song play to completion. you also cannot pick up the boombox or turn off the radio thats playing said cassette or the glitch will happen. you MUST LET THE CASSETTE FINISH. to fix the bug, just relog and it will fix it every time. sometimes you can pick up the boom box and place it back down to fix it, but its hit or miss.

So, we were having the same problem. I found this discussion while looking for a fix.
I figured I shared what we found out today.

We figured out the problem. At least what was causing it at our server.
We placed the boombox right next to the vinyl player when we were making a 'music corner' and to make it visually more pleasing. But it seems like they interfere with each other.

We could still play music for ourselves, but the others could not hear it.
When trying another boombox it worked fine. That's how we found out.

But since B42 should be coming soon...who cares anymore xD
