Historical inspiration?
When I just saw the handle, I thought it was a nodachi, but looking at the blade, I see it's not. What is it? Shoto?

I think it's a Nagamaki. But in Choy-Li-Fut, this was used to protect against cavalry. They said if you were good, you would slice through the horse and the guy.
