A massive bug.( FIX in description)
So I have seen a few other posts about this and I have experienced this, it can be two issues wither a bad install (rare only has happened to me once on the epic games store) or a bug here. So the main issue is the fact that everytime I play a campaign with this mod when the spokesman talks about the Avatar project, when you skip the cutscene or just watch the whole cutscene, it crashes.

*The cutscene where the spokesman explains Advent are on the move and they are starting to put resources into the avatar project.

I to. This crash happened if you have infiltrated mission in process. Try to end all infiltrated before Spokesman start his cutscene

I noticed that I picked back xcom 2 when I read your message.
For me I was running with Christopher Odd Season 8, So for me I fixed it because I was missing a mod. A single mod and that fixed it

So thats where I think it's the case for you. Check all the mods you have, incase there's something missing.

Okay, new theory.
I have:
[SOCI] Grim Horizon Lite Redux
[WotC] Remove Dark Event (Grim Horizon Lite)
[WOTC] Grim Horizon Fix
...and my game crashed.
I didn't use [WOTC] Grim Horizon Text Fix because I translated the text myself. But after installing it, the crashes stopped.

I fixed my side of the issue, but I don't know about yours. However keep the posts up, as someone may need to know what you did to fix it. But I'm not sure at all on your case.

Through various means I could find out that my game crashes after the cutscene ONLY IF I already finished my first guerilla ops mission. I had one pop up right before the cutscene plays so I watched it first, let the Avatar project do its thing and then moved on with the Guerilla ops.
