Wheat turns into hay dooming my starving colony
I grew so much wheat to make bread but then all of a sudden when i mill it it turns into hay

Hard to tell without a HugsLib log or at least a modlist.
Are you using "Medieval Overhaul Patches"?

It should be turning into Hay and Flour. You then use the Flour to make bread. At-least that's how it works for me. Putting this in in-case other people have this issue. Assuming you resolved your issue.
