Turning off mission types.
is it possible to completely turn off some of the mission types? i cannot bring myself to do monster lair missions and that would be fine aslong as they didn't spread to other areas.

Lairs don't spread, they stay in their spot and you can just drive around them

"Monsters nest deep inside lairs, and will spread to nearby locations. Worse, swarms of husk infected may patrol the biome. Destroy the lairs to make the area habitable again!"
was this removed or something?

It was changed a long time ago (lairs took over entire biomes), the only way lairs extend is to their adjacent locations as "feeding grounds" which prevent outposts from appearing in those spots. Husked lairs can spawn husk swarms in nearby empty locations for increased difficulty
