Is there a way to make the borders less thick?

you could try using the mod in combination with Beyond Typus Graphical Adjustments

Just downloaded "A Rev. Borders Mod - NWNF" + "A Rev. Font Mod - Dark" and am now super happy with overall look of the map! :D
