Just tested it to make sure it's working properly and it is. You have to backtrack to where you hit the second button upon starting the level, a door should of opened right next to the room with the panel puzzle hint. You probably walked by it a couple of times unless it somehow glitched for you and the door never went down.

With the non-usable machine gun? I thought that was before the cafeteria button.
In any case, I got that one too, and then was stuck.

Oh sorry my bad, was thinking about the other bathroom with the scientists. After you press that button, a door opens on the right past the N-# experiment chambers. The level has a lot of backtracking in it, I tried putting spike traps for sound to help hint where places open but being at a certain distance you sometimes can't hear it at all.

I found what I was missing, a button in the open cage. I didn't go into it the first time because I thought the green stuff was death. But now I can only make my way up to collecting the mask and the tnt, still no sign of the blue or yellow keys. If the tnt is supposed to open a path in the place those guys were trying to pickaxe through, it didn't do that.

Also no idea what ggwbggrb is supposed to mean.

Those are the collectibles, they serve no purpose besides being collected to see them towards the end. Just a few more buttons and you'll unlock a place where you might understand that code.
After that there will be more backtracking, just look for new rooms that have opened. Once you get the blue key, it's more of a linear progression from there. I'm going to sleep so if you're still playing then good luck.

I just said I can't get any of the keys after the red one....

I am working on a walkthrough video right now for those who get stuck on things. Once you have the red keycard, you have to open two doors that are blocking the Employees only wall thing. It sounds like you should of already opened the first one, the second door order is: button in red keycard room in the chef's kitchen -> button behind the shelf where the white prisoner was sitting has now moved -> ggwbggrb button -> final button to open the door behind the dishwasher in the chef's kitchen.

If you're still stuck, the video will be up in about an hour hopefully.
