When it goes farther than it should, did you have the music paused or just set the volume to 0? There was an issue with that where wallpaper engine gave false info about the play status, which should be solved in the beta.
so, when I have my wallpaper playing one of the tracks through your player and then I start playing a song on spotify/youtube the music pauses.
I know its pausing and not muting because when I stop the spotify/youtube audio, the wallpaper audio picks up again from exactly where it left off.
The issue is that the progress bar will continue to extend endlessly, at least until the wallpaper song actually reaches its end, to which the progress bar will reset for whatever song plays next. For good measure I'll take a look at the beta to see if anything changes or fixes.
it moving is still obviously unintended so I'll see if there's anything else I can do to fix the issue
Following up on the comment about the beta...
Because the bar still moves and starts to skip tracks it means that it is cutting songs short.
If I play another audio for a couple seconds and turn it off, the wallpaper audio seems to pick up where it left off but in actuality its shaved off the time I was pause, off the end of the song.
even removing "time+=engine.frametime;" from the update function doesnt stop it from skipping and cutting songs short. So wherever it is getting the info about how long a song has been playing, if not that, seems to be the issue
That often is an issue with frametime
If you believe this to be a wallpaper engine related issue (due to .isPlaying() being incorrect) you can test it in your own code and report it here https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/app/431960/discussions/1/3449213285568597331/
However I can‘t really check it out myself in the next weeks..
If you think it’s a problem with the asset itself, link me an example of your wallpaper and I try it out as soon as I get the time to :/
