I tried to do something with map logic back when I was working on this. This is one of my very first maps, so I didn't get far. I agree with you and they do kinda ruin it.

However, a newer map that I haven't published includes a system of triggers and logic to bring it to life for the unlucky players on the map if it's ever finished
