could you check and see if on the desert level breaking the statues inside the pyramids doesn't allow magic because its not for me but it might be another mod though

No, it doesn't break. The game reports that "The magic of the pyramid blocks the use of magic." As I understand it, this game mechanics does not allow you to break the pyramid with magic at a distance of up to 5 cells.
Checked with and without modification, mechanics does not change
